Chatter™ Program Volunteer

Chatter™ is a group-therapy program for children and teenagers with autism spectrum disorder and other social-communication delays. We invite students to volunteer as peer mentors to help participants develop their social, language, and communication skills.

Volunteers must be in junior high or high school, and must provide a police information check. Volunteers will be invited to attend a training program prior to being placed in a group.

Occupational Therapist

We currently have an opening for an Occupational Therapist, either full or part time, to work in our school programs in all stages of assessment, treatment, consultation and follow-up services to patients. The successful candidate will be familiar working in a team environment and in delegating treatment to appropriately qualified assistants.

If you are a graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy, are a member in good standing of the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists, and you demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills send us your resume!

Chelsey Strathdee

I am passionate about serving school communities and learning about their unique cultures.

Chelsey StrathdeeRegistered Speech-Language Pathologist

Over the years, Chelsey has worked with the Khan team to support and enhance the development of preschool and school aged children of the four nations that are party to Treaty Six, the traditional lands in Alberta.

She enjoys working with the people of the community and with the Elders within the schools and strives to build lasting relationships based on mutual respect, trust and understanding. Over the last 5 years working with Maskwacis Education Schools Commission (MESC), Chelsey has attended many traditional cultural ceremonies which have been memorable learning experiences that have helped her to grow and better understand the communities she works with.

Providing service to the First Nations communities has enriched Chelsey’s relationship with and perspective of the First People of Canada.
